At Long Last!

It’s been quite some time since I’ve blogged anything. Between starting a new position at my company, starting grad school, and the normal ups and downs of life, and the holidays, I have been neglectful of my poor, poor blog. Things are a little slow here at work (and I’m not feeling particularly proactive work-wise), so I’ll catch up a little.

As you’re probably aware, I finally landed a new job at my company and got out of the hellish department that I was in, which was a big break for me. I coordinate work for the company’s construction crews and interact with the guys who are actually turning the wrenches on a daily basis and their foremen. Let me tell you, it’s a fun environment. This Christmas, they kidnapped the little Christmas tree that I have up in my cube. The ransom note made me pay up 3 jelly donuts (I made them on the color printer), tell a guy I work with that he’s handsome (he’s anything but), and tell one of the women I work with how much I hate her (which is not at all). Once I fulfilled my requirements, I found my tree in the shop hanging upside down from a crane about 20 feet up. I was just disappointed that they didn’t manage to get the lights plugged in. These boys go way out of their way to perfect the practical joke. Me? I just love the attention.

Grad school is going well! So far, I have a 4.0 grade point average. Can you believe it? I’m really enjoying my classes and have made some friends already. It’s nice to really be using my brain again. I’ve also rediscovered the fact that I’m one of those dorks who ENJOYS doing math. Don’t ask!
