Back to Nature

This past weekend, the Boy and I went up to New Hampshire to camp during the long weekend. We left Milford on Saturday morning and made pretty good time getting up to Vermont. We missed a key turn because we were too busy mocking an RV park, but we quickly saw the error of our ways and were back on track in no time. We got to the Kancamagus Highway and set about to find us a nice camping site nestled in the White Mountains. Unfortunately, all of the campsites were full in the National Forest. Needless to say we were stressing and things were looking a little bleak.

We head into town and there is this cute little white house that served as both the information booth and the local Chamber of Commerce. I think the man working there was as happy to see us as we were to see him. It seems that he doesn't get a lot of visitors during the day. He calls around and gets us a site at Cove Camping Area, which is right on Lake Conway. He described it as "the best kept secret in the area." I'm inclined to think he's right. We had a great spot in this totally wooded area. We weren't right on top of the other campsites, which was key. We spent the weekend "roughing it," that is, if you consider an big tent, air mattress, grilling salmon and veggies every night, drinking wine, and making smores by the campfire to be a rough time. We need to do that more often. Although next time we have to remember a camera. ;)

My new little friend

Welcome! Well, I've finally gone and done it. I've created me a blog of my very own. My good friend Kristin showed me the way and now I'm off and running. I've neglected my poor little sasstastic website and now it's time to get on my horse and get it all purty and updated. I'm going to do a little facelift to the site. Nothing crazy at first. Moving forward, I'll work on making it a little more fancy. I figure two years is long enough to wait to make an update. I'll try to keep my posts as exciting as possible.
