Opening the Flood Gates

Yesterday, The Boy and I took a drive. It was the first full day of weather nice-ness in a week and a half. We decided to take advantage of it and headed up a really scenic road that heads north into CT. There were all of these people stopped near the Stevenson Dam, so we decided to check out what the fuss was all about. We found this little access road that led down below the dam... It was crazy!

They had to open up the flood gates and let more water into the river because there was so much rain over the past week plus. There was even water splashing over the top of the dam, probably due to the wind. It was like being at Niagra Falls... Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating, but I've never been there, so let me have my fun!
