Requiem for a Sidekick
Last night, The Boy did a very difficult thing for him. He traded in his old car for a shiny new one. The old car was a 1994 Suzuki Sidekick, which he bought new back in 1993. They have had a lot of adventures together. Travelling all over New England, drives to Canada, a few years out in Chicago and the mountains of Colorado. All in all, the Sidekick lived a wonderful and full life, which is evident by its mileage when we turned it in last night.

It was hard for The Boy to give in and let go of the car.

I can totally relate. I STILL have my convertible VW Rabbit, which has sat idle for years, despite my vow to restore it. I'm also facing the impending trade-in of my Jetta that is coming up in a few weeks.
We did a little
photo shoot of his last moments with is car and some of the things we will remember most... like the
penny used as a stereo knob.
The cool part about it is his new ride... a brand new Honda Element.

Admittedly, this all makes me a little bit jealous... My car won't be here for another couple of weeks. Once it does it will be so cute... I don't know if anyone out there (besides you,
Kristin) remembers a looney toons cartoon featuring
Spike and Chester, but that will be our two cars once they're together.
