A Dog's Life

In an effort to make Bobo be the most portable, well-socialized dog that we can, we've been bringing him out with us as much as possible. He still needs another set of shots, so he's been seeing the world from up in our arms.

Last night was no different. We took him with us to my neice's softball game. It was an unusual June night, cold and breezy. Poor Bobo was shivering, so I put him inside of my sweatshirt to stay warm. Within about 5 minutes, he fell fast asleep. Within 10 minutes, he was completely inside, snoring contentedly.

Luckily we were able to capture the moment:

Snug and warm (and passed out)

Fond Memories

Yesterday marked our first wedding anniversary. June 10, 2006 was the best day of my life and one hell of a party. Boy, I love you and look forward to many more anniversaries to come!

A brief recap of the day:

Pick it up, pick it up

A couple of weeks ago, I heard a song that I really dug on XM. It was a new song, but sounded strangely familiar. Come to find out that it's the latest release from Tim Armstrong, someone whose work I have loved since his days in Operation Ivy and Rancid.. In fact, Op Ivy was the band that I think of first when remembering the stuff I listened to in high school. His bands' music has influenced loads of ska and punk bands over the past 20 years.

Man, do I want to go to a ska show... except, I'd be that creepy old person we used to mock when we were the kids at the show.

Get out your skinny black suits, and let's skank!

Bobo

I had a few weeks' downtime between my spring semester and my summer course. The Boy finished up his semester and graduated with his Masters degree. What did we do to enjoy a short lull in our lives? Take a relaxing vacation? No. Spend a day at the spa? Not quite.

We adopted a puppy!

Meet Bobo, our (now) 12 week old pug. We've had him for about two weeks now.
First (almost) family shot

We honestly tied to give him a more dignified name, but Bobo is the one that stuck.

We adopted him from a small dog rescue in upstate New York. He was rescued off the auction block at a puppy mill auction. Had he not been rescued, he would have lived his life in a tiny cage breeding over and over again... or find himself in the window of a pet store.

But alas, he is with us. He came to us with kennel cough, but is nearly all better now. Luckily Logan is vaccinated against the virus. Since he's been feeling better we've thought up some nicknames for him:

The list goes on... but all in all he's the cutest, funniest looking dog I've ever seen. Logan is adjusting to his little brother better than we expected, so we're thrilled. Welcome home Bobo!
